Travelling Through Sound

From an early age, traveling has been a fundamental part of Terence's life.

Born in Brazzaville-Congo, raised in Pointe-Noire, forced to flee to Europe with his family because of the Congolese the civil war.

A life defined by a perpetual movement.

And when that need for movement could not be met, Terence would find solace in music.

Growing up in a family that celebrated its diverse culture on a daily basis was another foundational point.

His father (and him) loved Congolese music: Koffi Olomidé, Franklin Boukaka or Papa Wemba. His mother introduced him to the Soul classics of Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers and Sadé; his sister is a Hip-Hop and R&B expert and his brother introduced him to Nirvana.

Music was always part of the family.

So, Terence used all these influences to craft an identity unique to him and explore more unexpected sonic landscapes in his musical journey.

With this in mind, he studied Jazz at The American School of Modern Music in Paris, was a guitar player for Rhys Chatham and his experimental Guitar Trio project.

He then used his guitar skills as a side-musician for french singer-songwriter Peter Lorne during the promotion of his first record Corrado.

He also worked for musicians such as Ambre Dessart and recorded Waves/Erased, french pop-rock band Diamond Fizz's first EP.

Keeping up with his need for exploration, he scored music for "Rengle: A Man on Heels", a documentary about Romania's first openly LGBTQIA+ superstar.

Terence is now currently working on his first self-produced EP "The Perks of Being an Afterthough", a culmination of all his influences and experiences.
